ET Phone The Mission Pres.
So my trainer has been emergency transferred. I think he was just dealing with so much himself that he just couldn't be training someone this transfer and I was dealing with a lot of adjusting and trying to figure out concentration issues. It just wasn't the right thing for us to be companions. I think the biggest problem though was we were bad at communicating. We talked but we never said what needed to be said. It's nothing against him but i think those conflicts were the reason ! was not feeling my most chipper self so far.
So I've got a new companion, Elder Brown I thought he was strange at first, but I'm actually starting to really enjoy having him as a companion. He plays the guitar as well so we've been jamming out together these last couple of days. I taught him how to play Smells Like Teen Spirit and Enter the Sandman and he taught me how to play Blackbird. This is technically mission appropriate because it's a "companion team building activity".
One thing Elder Brown is big on though is building up good communication skills with his companions, something that I| really want to work on right now. Which is proof to me that even after the hardest moments you start to realize that God was just preparing you to get back up and improve. Because he loves us. And his love for us doesn't mean he wants us to stay as we are, but to always strive to improve and as we follow him he will give us those opportunities to do so.
I haven't talked about many of the friends we've been talking too in my emails lately, but recently we were able to put this one girl named Anaka on date for baptism. Her mom is a member, but life got really hard for them when Anaka turned 8 so she was never able to get baptized. She's really excited though and we've got a great membership going on with the ward, vi can't put into words how awesome the members of this ward are. So thats Anaka. James we've been working win again. me says that he likes mis church and feels like no should, but man he doesn't want to keep the commandments we give him and he calls us when he's drunk and all that stuff like that. We gave him the gospel library app and he really enjoys that. Tip to all the missionaries Gospel Library and The Book of Mormon apps are Over Powered in teaching your friends about the church and stuff. We met with this 92 year old, whom I did not know was 92, named Myrta. She's friends with one of our best members (in missionary work, all the members are awesome) and we set up a lesson with her and used her friend as a fellowship. We taught the lesson, but Sister Stowers came in clutch with the Invitation and testimony.
I just want to say thank you all for your support it's very much appreciated and I love you all. I'm sorry that some of my emails may have scared you a little bit, but these past few weeks I've been leaming about strength. I always thought strength was measured in how much you can bench or how far you can through a ball, but it's not. "Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12. I know what strength is and I know it's source. I beleive that we can all over come hard abstacles through him even when another one is thrown our way right afterwards. And I say that in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
Thanks for your supprt again, I'm sorry I don't respond to everyone, but I do appreciate you guys. Love you all. See you all next P-day.
