Bikes, Baptism, And Good Byes!!!

Image
Hello Everyone, So first things first, Erik got baptized. It was good, I don't think I've ever met anyone more prepared than Erik was to be baptized. He brought his friend to the Baptism as well so that was cool. Biking here in Mckenna is kind of hard, but we've been pulling through. The Yelm Elders and the members have been giving us rides to and from places. So it's not actually that bad. President Metts is leaving the mission tommorow. He was a good mission president and he really did love his missionaries and he loved the mission. Thank you president. I watched this video recently. It's pretty good you should give it a watch. How Is My Favorite Missionary?

Hi Elder Penrod, How are things going? How are the snacks? Do you still have some let and have you had a change of heart and shared with your companion, haha? I hope things are going well for you. We are up to the same old same old. Lots of work and then working around the house. Curtis decided he was going to run a 5k on a whim last week so he and Braden, his friend, went to Nephi with Braden's Dad and ran. He can fill you in on his stats during the call tomorrow.  While Curtis was running we decided to go check out the farmer's market on 25th street as a family. It was very hippie and we had a lot of fun looking at all that was there. Lots of hand crafted art, treats, and some actual produce (micro greens and exotic mushrooms). They had a guy wearing angel wings selling Heavens Best butter, he was quite entertaining and some live bands. There was a metal sign I was tempted to buy for Curtis that said "Squatch at play" But it was $35.  On Sunday we had a young lady s...

The Redo Button

Hi Elder Penrod, How are things going? How is your new companion? Did you get your packages, lol? I hope that you have had a good start to your week. Things are pretty busy around here with summer activities. We had some great talks given for Father's day. Sis Carver talked about her husband and her Dad and Grandpa. I think I told you a little bit about her message to her Dad telling him to come to church, it is not only about socializing but committing to our Savior and His gospel. Sis. Fowers spoke about how her Dad would visit her at work regularly and just bring her a little hamburger meal and just talk. She said she came to look forward to it every week. She also spoke about Elder Uchtdorf's talk this last conference where he says "For a moment, imagine this situation: You're at church, listening to a talk about families. The speaker describes a perfect home and an even more perfect family. Husband and wife never quarrel. Children stop reading their scriptures onl...

Divine Inspiration Or President Has Gone Crazy

Hello hello again Updates: we got a new friend her name is Debra, transfers happened, I got a new companion, and our area got put on bike. We worked these last two weeks and finally got to see the fruits of our labors. We ran into a women named Debra and taught her a normal restoration lesson. It's been a while since I've had one of those. She really understood and had good questions that were not conspiracy theories. It was really good and it tums out her son was looking into the church as well. Rip Elder Clawson he's in Bremerton now. I got a new companion (Elder Hunter) we actually arrived to the mission together so that's cool. I'm still JC though. Our reward for working hard is that we got put on bike. Which messes with the work entirely here in Mckenna. A lot of our members are actually kind of mad about it. Apparently the roads here hardly have any shoulder and many bikers have died in the area. So idk what president was thinking but it must be inspired someh...
