It's March!
Hi Elder Penrod,
I hope that you are doing well. I can't believe it is March already! I feel like time is just flying by. How are you doing? How is the area?Have you seen any new cool nature trails? How is the ward doing? Has it been rainy this last week?
We had a pretty usual week last week.
Today is Cameron's birthday. He received a lego set (Ford GT) and an electric razor (I can't believe he is getting a little mustache already, haha). He is studying to go take the permit test so if you have any advice on how to pass, let him know.
Bethany had a weird rash going on and we found out it was impetigo/staph infection. It was not fun, but hopefully we have it under control. She is as tall as me when the doctor measured her so I am thinking I will be the shortest in the family because she is not done growing.
Dad has been enjoying his apple watch. He is really dedicated to closing his loops and getting in his exercise and eating this new diet that is very similar to Keto.
We have been getting a ton of snow, it just seems to keep on coming. It is good for the mountains and the snow pack and will definitely be nice to have some green grass and water in the reservoirs so I can't complain. But, I am looking forward to not walking the dog in the cold all bundled up, haha.
I am still making my way through the Book of Mormon. Our work has a goal for everyone to finish it before the April Conference. I am a little behind but I think I will be able to do it. I have just started 3 Nephi. I don't know what it is about the story of Nephi and him telling the people about the murder of the chief judge. It is one of my favorite stories. Probably because I love a good who dunnit and Nephi is the best detective ever, haha. I guess it helps when you have the spirit telling you what exactly happened. I also love how after all the hullabaloo Nephi was left alone to ponder and he mourned for the wickedness of the people. But then Heavenly Father comforts him, saying "Blessed art thou, Nephi, for those things which thou hast done; for I have beheld how thou hast with unwearyingness declared the word, which I have given unto thee, unto this people. And thou hast not feared them, and hast not sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments." And then he blesses him with the sealing power.
I hope that you are doing well. I hope that you are able to see the blessings in the small things everyday and even if you are not moving mountains, you are making a difference in the lives that you come in contact with. Keep sharing God's love with those around you
I love you tons!
Love,
Mom
P.S. if you would like to pass on to Sis. Rowley the following recommendations from Sally (A Spokane native): Carousel in Riverfront Park, Feed the Garbage Goat, see the Big Red Wagon, try a huckleberry shake at Milk Bottle Diner in Garland District, and see the Lilac parade in the spring. :)
