Happy General Conference
Hi Elder Penrod,
How was your conference weekend? Did you do any teaching this week? What talk stood out to you?
I really enjoyed listening to all the talks given. It is also nice to not have to dress up for the occasion. I think the theme on the Saturday morning session was definitely resolving conflict and not allowing anger to consume your life. The prophet's council in those regards was piercing and I felt that it was exactly what we all needed to hear. I like to be apprised of the news and current events and can see how his council is so applicable. There is a lot of hate and animosity out there right now and we can all use a little more compassion, more understanding, and more peacemaking.
I hope you are doing well and are excited about the Easter weekend. You may be getting your Easter basket late... In my head I was like "yeah, it will get there before Sunday in time for Easter"... I am sorry I don't think through how P day works. So next Tuesday, expect some surprises, haha.
Here are some highlights for the week:
Dad has been working hard on the house and has the soffit on the south side of the shop up and some on the master bedroom section. He is also going to be replacing Beth's flooring and painting her room this week. So the weekend was super busy as we prepared for that.
Curtis has a doctor's appointment today so we will see what he says about starting up wrestling again.
Cameron is the best pencil diver of the family. We went swimming yesterday and your brother and Dad gave him a hard time because that was how he goes off the diving board but I totally get it. At least he is willing to go off the diving board, unlike me, I didn't even venture over, haha.
Beth is cleaning her room furiously to have it ready for the painting and flooring. I think she is excited to get rid of the pale pink walls, haha.
We are also in the middle of another snow storm. We are promised that today, April 4th, we will receive another foot of snow in the valleys. The mountains are looking at more and have beat the all time record, which was back in 1983, when everything melted and created a river down Main street in Salt Lake. So we will see what happens. Hopefully it doesn't all melt that fast.
I am excited to talk to you this evening. I hope all is going well and that you are finding joyful moments in your mission.
Keep up the good work and keep up the good Word!
I love you Tons!
Love,
Mom
