Ok looks i'm back to procrastinating the emails. Some things that have happened over the two weeks, we had a lesson with Chinh again. Taught him the Plan of Salvation using pokemon cards. He seems to be getting more interested in the church and Jesus now. He's been more diligent in praying and reading his scriptures so he's doing well. We stopped by a grey dot in our area book named Lavender last week and she opened the door and was like "you guys always show up at the right time....I just finished praying". Which is what people usually say when they are high, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. We invited her to watch a general conference and had a church tour with her the next day as well. Lavender seems pretty chill and she does keep commitments so we'll see how it goes.


When I was watching the General Conference I noticed that a lot of the talks, specifically the saturday evening session, were about member inactivity and bringing the sheep back to the fold. I realized some areas like the one I'm in have low member activity. Poulsbo has a 30% active member rate and stellacoom has a 50% rate. I've noticed that many members I visited wish that it was higher. I also noticed how many inactive members I've run into that just feel like they're fellow members dont actually care about them. I know that's not true. I know we can all make an effort to not just love, share and invite with our non-member friends but with our member friends as well. That stood our to me the most at least. Perhaps that's what our goal will be next week

Easter And Such

Hi Elder Penrod, I hope that you are doing well. I probably won't have much to talk about since we spoke to you on Sunday. How are you doing? How is your week going so far? How is your companion? How are your friends doing? We had our usual Easter Egg Hunt at Lisa's on Saturday. It was fun and they were able to convince Beth and Cameron to hunt for eggs with the promise of vending machine money . It was fun to see Rylen (Liam's boy) and Ethan hunt around for eggs. It sounds like Rylan is going to be a big brother in November. Josh Burger's wife is also expecting, they will be having a boy in September. So lots of new babies on the way. Yesterday and today the deck guy has been here at the house installing our deck. I am so excited to have it, I think it will look great! We just have to figure out how we are going to barricade the dog in until the fence can be attached to the backyard. Some Friends And Some Foes (But Not Really Because We Love Everyone)

The area has finally started to get some activity now. We've been keeping some lessons going with our friend and we have some good fellowship with that. She likes attending church and the ward activities so that's good. Saturday we got bashed. She was very nice though, but really did not believe in the Book of Mormon and told us it was of Satan. Right after that we visited a drunk lady who wanted a prayer, sounds familiar, but this time it wasn't too weird. She said we were awesome and what we do is good which was nice. Transfers are coming and I'll be getting a new companion so Elder Higbee will be leaving. I'll miss him actually he's been a pretty good companion even though he's a bit trunky.
